Honey, take your time...

I haven't posted on this in about two months. I guess you could say I have been busy (ha ha, but really, I have been busy). Between summer school and working full-time, I haven't had much time to spend for myself.  When I have had free time, I try my best to forget everything that has been on my mind and spend a little quality time with my handsome fiance.

To catch everyone up on some of the wedding details, we set a date. I know, you thought I already set a date, but with everything going on in our lives at this moment, we had to change it once again. I think it's for the best and am excited to announce that our OFFICIAL date is August 4, 2012!! Can you believe it? It is one year and 3 days away. I absolute cannot wait to pass the one year mark in 4 days.

To help ensure that I keep this date and do not change it anymore, we booked our venue (I will get back to this later). I am excited to continue planning our big day and keeping you all informed of all of the little details.

This is definitely a good life.

Colors

It's been a while since I've been able to find a few minutes to get on here. Today I have been looking at colors.  I have been pretty set on cobalt blue for a while. However, lately I find myself wanting to add colors to my palette.  I have been considering:

 Cobalt blue, teal, and purple, 

Cobalt blue and yellow

Cobalt blue, teal, gray

Cobalt blue, watermelon pink

I am not sure what I am going to go with! It really doesn't help that I am always super indecisive :) Hopefully I will figure it out soon!

Also, it seems as though our date is never going to be set in stone. We have been trying to juggle a family member's deployment, Mr. R's field training date, and me starting a new job. It has been quite a struggle to find a date that will make everyone happy.  I guess after talking to Mr. R and my FMIL, I have to realize that I am not going to be able to make everyone happy.  This doesn't sit well with me though :(  We also found out that we may not know when Mr. R will be going to field training until two weeks before he goes.  This does not leave me with many options except to set a date BEFORE field training begins.  I am still debating what we are going to do.  The earliest that I feel that we will set our date is May 18th, 2012.  It would be really cool to set it on June 2, 2012 (That is our 4 year anniversary :) !! ) I guess I just need to figure it out and stick with it.  Hopefully everything will come together smoothly!

My dress!!!

Since we were debating our date, I decided that I needed to go try on dresses :) My mom, my future mother-in-law, and my future sis-in-law went last Sunday.  I really went to just see what styles I liked and which were definitely not me.  I found one dress at David's Bridal that I ABSOLUTELY loved on the mannequin.  It was the first dress that I tried on, and I really liked it.  I didn't love it though.  I tried on another, which I liked better, and then I tried on THE ONE! I came out of the dressing room smiling SO big, and I knew that it was my dress :)  I LOVE IT! I tried on two other dresses just to make sure that I wasn't going to love any other dress in the store.  So, a year and 4 months before my wedding and I bought my dress :) However, it may be a blessing because It has to be ordered, and have alterations before I can bring it home. The ladies at David's Bridal were awesome :) They were so nice and helpful!  I can't believe that I tried on 5 wedding dresses and found mine.  I went dress shopping for a dining-in function for Mr. R's ROTC, and I tried on about 50 dresses. I guess when you find "the one" you just know :)

While we were getting my dress, I went ahead and decided that my future-sis-in-law (she's 6) will be my flower girl :) We also bought her dress - it is SO cute! I love it! :)

About our Big Day

I decided that I would start a blog to keep everyone updated on what we have going on with our wedding plans :) I have found out VERY quickly that weddings are VERY difficult to plan.

Anyway.. on to the wedding details :)

We first set our date for Aug 4, 2012, but some issues have come up.  Mr. R will be going to field training next summer which could be any five weeks between May and August.  We also have a family member that will be deploying and will not be back until next year.  We had to debate which day would be the best for everyone.  We were between December 2011, March 2012, or August 2012.  Our hearts have led us to move our date to Aug 10, 2012 in hopes that it will work out for the best.  So, as of now, that is our big day.  I am so excited and cannot wait to be Mr. R's wife :)
